1. So far, this is my second* biggest complaint. I like to keep my phone up on a stand while I work. With the headphone jack on the bottom, I have to dangle it off the edge to accommodate the plug while I’m on long-ish calls. It feels a bit precarious for a very expensive device.
The issue also extends to my car, where I have a similar mount. The bottom-mounted jack is going to make it way, way harder to safely plug in headphones if I get a call while I’m driving. Instead of just slamming in the plug with one hand (oh my!) and using the mount to support the handset, I’ll have to take it out of the mount, hold it in my left hand while steering, plug in the ‘phones with my right, then re-mount it without resting it on the headphone jack. Not safe. Maybe it’s time for me to become a bluetooth-headset douchebag.
Everything else is incredible.
*Number one complaint: I have about two hundred 30-pin to USB cables, and exactly one Lightning to USB cable. No more charging in the car, and If I lose this thing on a trip, I’m screwed. I don’t understand how Apple could build and distribute enough iPhones for a worldwide launch, but no spare cables.
